Suspect arrested in connection to sexual assault at Daffin Park

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Police Department arrested a man in connection to a sexual assault at Daffin Park.

According to SPD, 30-year-old Lashawa Doyle is charged with attempted rape, aggravated sexual battery, and false imprisonment.

Police say the incident happened on August 6th near a bathroom in Daffin Park. A bystanders notified a police officer nearby, and the suspect was captured after a short chase.

Jail records show Doyle was released from custody 17 days before his latest arrest and is listed as unhoused. Records also indicate this is his eighth arrest of 2026 and his 22nd arrest since 2020.

The adult female victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
