Savannah celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with community breakfast

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Community and business leaders gathered in Savannah to mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month with culture, connection, and a traditional community breakfast hosted by the Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs nationwide from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, recognizing the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans with ancestry tracing back to Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

The signature 2026 Hispanic Heritage Celebration Breakfast brought together local entrepreneurs, public officials, community partners, and members of the WTOC team to honor the economic contributions, achievements, and vibrant heritage of the area’s Hispanic community.

A centerpiece of the morning was the Parade of Countries, where attendees gathered into individual delegations and marched through the venue behind their national flags, representing their cultural roots, families, and local businesses.

In addition to the parade, the gathering featured an authentic Hispanic breakfast buffet, cultural music, folkloric dance performances, and raffles. The chamber also used the occasion to introduce its new board members and recognize leaders working to support Hispanic-owned and small businesses across the region.
