SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Georgia State Patrol’s Troop F Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRTF) has completed its investigation into a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on May 10, 2026, resulting in the death of Frank Yannich of Pembroke, Georgia.

The driver of a Dodge Journey involved in the collision has been identified as Miguel Duran Martinez, a native of Mexico. The investigation determined that Martinez fled the scene on foot immediately following the collision. The investigators report that Martinez did not possess a driver’s license and had a Georgia identification card.

He is believed to have left the United States and returned to Mexico on May 11, 2026, just hours after the fatal collision.
