Rincon mayor confirms city manager termination
RINCON, Ga. (WTOC) - City of Rincon Mayor Kevin Exley confirmed to WTOC that Rincon’s city manger Robert Byrd has been terminated.
The mayor sent us the following statement:
After much deliberation, the City of Rincon has decided to terminate the contract of Robert Byrd. This is not a ‘for cause break up’ but more of a ‘for convenience’ break up.
Mayor Kevin Exley
The mayor also told us Byrd’s contract was up for either renewal or termination, and the city council chose termination. Byrd was selected for the role back in Sept. of 2024. Prior to his role in Rincon, Byrd was the city manager of Pooler.
