Port Wentworth celebrates opening VyStar Pavilion, Ice Cove Arena

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Port Wentworth celebrated growth on 912 Day at the opening of its newest community destination, the VyStar Pavilion and Ice Cove Arena.

The started with ribbon cutting ceremonies, marking the official opening including the opening of the Frozen Anchor Sports Bar and pro shop.

VyStar Pavilion opened its doors on August 1, 2026, with its first ticketed concert.

“It’s a fantastic accomplishment for the city to complete a project of this magnitude. We could not have done it without the support of our partners Zawyer Sports and Oak View Group,” said City Manager, Steve Davis.

It was an afternoon of activities including live music, family-friendly activities, games, inflatables and bounce houses, crafts, local vendors, food trucks and a mechanical bull.

Ice Cove Arena offered free public skating on a first come, first served basis, along with Jr. Ghost Pirates and Sirens exhibitions, figure skating exhibitions, and more.
