Pooler students raise more than $3,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities

POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) - Students, families, and staff at Primrose School of Godley Station recently raised more than $3,000 to support children receiving medical care in the Coastal Empire.

The funds were collected through community events, including a carnival and a book fair, with all proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House of Coastal Georgia. The organization provides lodging, meals, and support services so families can stay close to their children during specialized medical treatment.

The effort comes as communities observe Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, highlighting the challenges faced by families navigating pediatric illnesses and the ongoing need for research and support.

School leaders say the initiative is part of their service-learning curriculum, designed to teach young children the values of kindness, compassion, and giving back to their community.

The fundraiser builds on previous community partnerships for the Godley Station school. In 2025, school families donated more than 5,000 food, cleaning, and dining supplies to assist families staying at the Savannah Ronald McDonald House.
