Hinesville Walmart shutting down temporarily for major upgrades

by Shakuria Smith

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - Walmart’s Neighborhood Market on East General Stewart Way in Hinesville will temporarily close July 6 for a planned four-week remodel.

The store, located at 801A E. General Stewart Way, is undergoing a rapid renovation designed to improve convenience, efficiency and the overall customer experience.

Walmart officials say the condensed remodeling process allows stores to receive major upgrades in weeks rather than months, minimizing disruption for shoppers.

Improvements will include updated lighting, new signage and fixtures, expanded aisles, enhancements to online grocery pickup and delivery services, and upgrades to the pharmacy area.

The pharmacy and fuel station will remain open throughout the project.

Customers can continue shopping at nearby Walmart locations on West Oglethorpe Highway or use Walmart’s pickup and delivery services during the temporary closure.

The company expects the refreshed store to reopen after approximately four weeks.
