UPDATE: Two people hurt in Friday night shooting on Wheaton St.
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - UPDATE: Two people were hospitalized Friday night after a shooting in the 700 block of Wheaton St.
According to SPD, officers initially responded to the scene around 8:45 p.m. based on ShotSpotter reports. At the scene, investigators collected evidence and spoke to witnesses who indicated an unknown group had shot at a car going west on Wheaton St., hurting two people inside the car.
The two victims were taken to a hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

In a separate incident, there is a heavy police presence on Abercorn Street near the Lucas Theatre.

WTOC crews at the scene observed yellow tape in the area, but authorities have not yet confirmed what happened there.
