by WTOC Staff, Robert Chase

FORT STEWART, Ga. (WTOC) - Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division are back home and reuniting with their families after a nine-month deployment to Eastern Europe.

Members of the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade returned to Fort Stewart on Tuesday evening following the overseas rotation, which focused on training alongside U.S. partners and NATO allies.

During the deployment, soldiers participated in multiple live-fire exercises and joint training operations designed to strengthen interoperability with allied forces.

Family members gathered on post Tuesday to welcome troops home, describing emotional reunions after months apart.

Fort Stewart officials said Tuesday’s arrival marks the first wave of returning soldiers from the division’s deployed units, with additional homecomings expected in the coming days.
