Woman dead after shooting in the 800 block of Porter St.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - One woman is dead after a shooting Sunday night in the 800 block of Porter St.

Savannah Police officers from the Northwest Precinct responded to the scene at around 6:25 p.m. based on reports of a gun being discharged in the area.

According SPD, investigators searched the area and found evidence of a shooting but no victim. Officers learned the victim arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds. Life saving measures were performed, but the woman died at the hospital.

Detectives determined that the shooting was the result of a dispute between two parties.

The Chatham County Coroner later identified the deceased victim as 42-year-old Kimberly Richardson.

This is an ongoing investigation, SPD said no arrests have been made.
