One man dead following Sunday night crash on Ogeechee Road

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE as of June 1, 2026, at 9:34 P.M.] One person is dead following a three-vehicle crash Sunday evening on Ogeechee Road near Cottonvale Road, close to Kroger.

The crash happened around 7:15 p.m., according to emergency responders.

Chatham County authorities said northbound lanes of Ogeechee Road were shut down, with traffic impacts visible on 511GA cameras.

WTOC crews on scene saw three vehicles involved in the wreck. EMS and law enforcement responded shortly after the crash and cleared the scene around 10:40 p.m.

On Monday, the Chatham County coroner identified the victim as 24-year-old Emanuel Johnson.

[UPDATE 10:43 P.M.] The crash on Ogeechee Road northbound at Cottonvale Road has cleared.

[UPDATE 7:51 P.M.] According to WTOC crews on scene, three cars were involved in the wreck.

Chatham County Police and Georgia State Patrol are also on scene.
