Two men indicted in fatal E-Bike hit-and-run in Chatham County; New warrants revealed in January arrests
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - New details are emerging in a deadly E-bike hit-and-run from December that killed a 14-year-old boy in Chatham County.
Two men have now been indicted in connection with the case, and newly obtained arrest warrants reveal how police found their suspects.
Police say the driver struck 14-year-old Marcus Anderson on his e-bike, stopped and got out to check on him, then left the scene.
Investigators say surveillance cameras, license plate readers, and damage to a van helped them track down the suspects.
A grand jury indicted 32-year-old Miguel Reyes-Castro and 29-year-old Olvin Ramos-Ramos for their roles in the crash. Police believe Reyes-Castro was driving.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. in late December along Ferguson Avenue and Glade Street.

Marcus Anderson was riding his e-bike when, according to the arrest warrant, he passed in front of a white panel van with a roof rack and several ladders. The warrant says the rear of the van jolted up and down, which was caught on nearby surveillance footage.

Police say Reyes-Castro got out to check on the victim, then got back in the van and left the scene. Investigators say the van went around Marcus and continued driving, never returning.
The same van was later seen on a Tybee Island camera with damage to the front bumper. Investigators later located the van while it was working at a home on 9th Street on Tybee Island. Broken pieces from the van matched debris found at the crash scene.
In early January, Marcus’s family held a candlelight vigil in his honor:

Authorities also noticed the van had been repaired with zip ties and had fresh paint on the bumper.
Police determined Miguel Reyes-Castro was driving the vehicle and that Olvin Ramos-Ramos, his friend and co-worker, helped repair the van.
Both men are being held on no bond with ICE detainers.
Police say additional information was provided to investigators that only someone involved in the crash would know.
Their next court date has not been listed yet.
