Two in Georgia win $150K in Powerball drawing, jackpot now over $1 billion

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Check your Powerball tickets, because two lucky people bought one in Georgia and are now much wealthier!

The Georgia Lottery said two $150,000-winning Powerball tickets were purchased in the state on Saturday, Aug. 30, matching four white numbers and the red Powerball for a $50,000 payout. They had the 3x “Power Play” on, making their prize $150,000.

Five others matched the four white numbers and the red Powerball without the Power Play in effect for a $50,000 payout.

However, there’s still no jackpot winner in the Powerball drawing. The next estimated Powerball jackpot will be at $1.1 billion.

The winning numbers were 3-18-22-27-33-red Powerball 17.

Winners in Georgia have 180 days to claim their prize.

The next Powerball drawing will take place on Monday, Sep. 1.
