Local organization collects donations

by WTOC Staff

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - As hurricane season reaches its peak, one organization is preparing for those who may not have all the resources they need.

Saturday, at the Food Lion in Georgetown, “Sistahs to Sisters Unite” a non-profit organization was out collecting food and various household items as preparation. All of the donations collected will go to four different low-income communities in the area- Garden City, Hudson Hill, Woodville, and Frazier Homes.

“What we’re doing is partnering with neighborhoods within some really underserved areas that are prone to flooding during storms, natural disasters and not a lot of resources - and some areas in food deserts. So we’re actually focusing today on getting donations - from batteries, flashlights, to non-tangible foods and canned goods,” said Executive Director of S2S Facts Inc., Donna Williams.

If you weren’t able to make it out there, don’t worry- you can still donate, here.
