Sheriff Edwards extended his prayers for the family and shared the impact Sands had on his life.

“My whole life I wanted to be the police, my whole life I’ve been raised by so many different men in law enforcement. A few have stayed in my life and always checked on me or taught me the right way to do things, Tracy Sands has always followed my career and made sure I was doing it the right way from patrolling in Glennville to buying dope in Bulloch all the way to running for Sheriff in Evans,” wrote Sheriff Mac Edwards. “Tracy always told me what I needed to hear, even if I didn’t want to hear it. He raised me in law enforcement and help raise me in the task force building as a child. I will never be the level he was, we have lost a great lion. Please pray for comfort for his family and we will see you again no doubt in my mind.”
