Investigation ongoing after burglary subject flees into woods
RIDGELAND, S.C. (WTOC) - An investigation is ongoing after a subject potentially involved in a burglary fled into the woods, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
On November 10, 2025, the JCSO said in a social media post that deputies were in the Chapel Road / Coosawhatchie area investigating a burglary.
“The subject fled into the woods, and there is an active law enforcement presence in the area,” the JCSO wrote.
Later, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office updated their post to say, “The heavy police presence in the Chapel Rd / Coosawhatchie area has cleared.”
“Deputies have not yet located the subject, and the investigation remains ongoing,” the JSCO also added.
