Coastal Waters Forecast: Today: S winds at 5-10 kt becoming SE. Seas: 2-3 ft. Tonight: SE winds at 10 kt becoming S after midnight. Seas: 2-3 ft.

A non tropical area of low pressure is located a few hundred miles southeast of Nova Scotia. There is a 10% chance for tropical or subtropical development today as the system is near warmer Gulf Stream water. This system will move northward by Wednesday over cooler water ending any chance for development. Tropical Storm Erin is located over the eastern tropical Atlantic. Erin is forecast to become a major hurricane this weekend moving northeast of Puerto Rico. At this time most computer models turn Erin to the north next week and keep it well off the east coast of the US. Continue to get regular updates to make sure that turn occurs.
