Wanted Hilton Head Island shooting suspect arrested in Jasper County

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - A man wanted in connection to a shooting investigation on Hilton Head Island is arrested in Jasper County.

Investigators say Andre Greene had multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants from Beaufort County.

Investigators determined Greene was staying at a home on Calf Pen Bay Road in Pineland.

When Jasper County deputies arrived at the home, they say Greene and Jamarie Williams ran from the scene.

Once captured, deputies say the recovered an illegally modified handgun with a “switch” converting the firearm into a fully automatic weapon.

Both suspects are now in the Jasper County jail charged with hindering and possession of a machine gun. Greene was also arrested on his outstanding Beaufort County warrants.
