38 water rescues, 40 missing persons, and 521 jellyfish stings: Tybee Island Ocean Rescue releases 2025 stats
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - Tybee Island Ocean Rescue has released the statistics for their 2025 End of Season report.
This year, the summer season lasted from June 2 to October 31.
According to a social media post from Tybee Island Ocean Rescue, these are the statistics:
- Advisements: 44,743
- Jellyfish Stings: 521
- Water Assists: 106
- Water Rescues: 38
- Animal Assists: 16
- Public Transports: 38
- Missing Persons: 40
- Medicals: 270
- Medicals Requiring EMS: 21
- Jet Ski Assists: 3
- Fatal Drownings: 0
