‘The Best Man’ stars coming to Savannah Derby Hat Kickback

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Seersucker attire, fascinators and Hollywood star power will come together at Savannah’s second annual Derby Hat Kickback.

The event will feature music, food, drinks, art, a charity putting competition and conversations about economic growth and mentorship.

“The Derby Hat Kickback is an elevated experience that celebrates Black excellence while cultivating partnerships and mentorship,” said Rowena Howells, the event’s curator and creator. “Last year’s inaugural kickback was well-received by the Coastal Empire, and we’re building on that momentum.”

One of the evening’s highlights will be a panel discussion featuring Dr. Keenya Mosley and Amanda Hollowell.

Building on last year’s theme, “Betting on Yourself,” this year’s discussion will focus on “From the Polls to Best Practices, Safeguarding the Bet.” Howells will moderate the conversation.
