Tyler Perry Studios pursues building new Atlanta entertainment district, filing shows
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry may be pushing forward with plans to bring a new entertainment district to Atlanta, according to a Development of Regional Impact filing.
The proposed project, listed at just over 1 million square feet, would be situated next to Tyler Perry Studios in Fort McPherson, along 1801 Lee Street in Fulton County.
The future “Tyler Perry Entertainment District” is listed as a mixed-use development. If approved, it would include retail and office space, a theater and parking, the proposal states.
A request to demolish nine existing buildings totaling 230,097 square feet was included.
The expected completion date is January 2028.
