Suspicious package closes road in Savannah, police report
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A suspicious package temporarily closed a road in Savannah Monday afternoon.
Police said E. Broughton St. between Houston St. and E. Broad St. is closed due to a suspicious package. Law enforcement is asking drivers to seek an alternate route.
Savannah College of Art and Design students also received an alert about a suspicious package near Norris Hall.
The alert read, “SCAD Urgent Alert: Police activity near Norris Hall in Savannah regarding a suspicious package. Please avoid the area.”
We have reached out to school officials who confirmed police are in the area and said classes are not currently in session, students return to the classroom on Sept. 14.
