Savannah law firm honors area first responders at 13th annual event

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A Savannah law firm hosted its annual celebration to recognize the hard work, sacrifices and dedication of area first responders to the community.

The gathering, hosted by Harris Lowry Manton LLP, marked the 13th year of the tradition. First responders from multiple agencies were recognized, including EMTs, police officers, detectives and firefighters.

The event also included a memorial honoring Mark Hummeldorf, a Marine veteran and fallen firefighter. The Honor Mark Foundation, created in his memory, works to honor him and other fallen first responders at community events.

“When something terrible happens in someone’s life, they’re the ones that are there to help you,” organizers said. “They run towards danger, not away from it. And so we just wanted to say thank you for all they do.”
