Man indicted in Easter Sunday murder of Bloomingdale mother

BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WTOC) - A grand jury has indicted Robert Allen Johnson in connection with the death of 39-year-old Paige Lewis, a Bloomingdale mother who was shot on Easter Sunday.
The indictment charges Johnson with malice murder, felony murder, tampering with evidence, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The indictment alleges Johnson shot Lewis on April 5, 2026, with malice aforethought. It also alleges he knowingly concealed the firearm to obstruct prosecution of himself.
Johnson turned himself in to the Bloomingdale Police Department, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Easter Sunday shooting
At about 12:50 a.m. on April 5, the Bloomingdale Police Department responded to a home in the 300 block of Cypress Street after a 911 call reporting Lewis had been shot. Officers arrived and found Lewis inside the residence with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the request of the Bloomingdale Police Department, GBI agents began investigating Lewis’s death.

Neighbors and friends recall Lewis
Friends and neighbors said Lewis was a caring mother and friend. Danielle Anderson, a friend who said she was with Lewis just hours before the shooting, described the loss.
“You would have never thought that it would have been her, like just never would have thought that,” Anderson said.
Anderson said she was alerted to the shooting by her husband in the early morning hours.
“10:30, 11 o’clock we come over, wasn’t here maybe an hour. We go home, go to bed, my husband wakes me up and he’s like, you got to get up, something happened at Paige’s house, run down there, hurry up,” Anderson said. “And when I got out the bed, I come down here and saw all the cops and the ambulances.”
Anderson described Lewis as “a fun, outgoing, loving mother” and “a very good friend.”
Neighbor Keanna Gross said she heard sounds the night of the shooting.
“Later in the night, when I heard some yelling and then I heard some gunshots, but they were muffled and they were, felt like they were close by,” Gross said. “I didn’t think anything of it.”
Next-door neighbor Linda Sims said investigators returned to the home multiple days following the shooting.

“It’s been several days now, they’ve been at it every day, looking through the yard and asking if we’ve seen or heard anything,” Sims said.
