Heavy rainfall causes sanitary sewer spill in Jesup
JESUP, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Jesup has issued a public notice regarding a sanitary sewer spill that occurred following heavy rainfall on the night of August 3.
Due to the excessive rainfall, a sanitary sewer overflow was reported near McMillian Creek Trail at Sixth Street and the end of West Plum Street.
As a result, there was a discharge of untreated wastewater into McMillian Creek.
Residents and visitors are advised to avoid contact with McMillian Creek in the affected area until further notice.
