Visitors to Savannah talk summer heat
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Sunday’s First Alert Weather Day brings extreme heat and potential record breaking highs.
Despite the heat, people in the Coastal Empire still enjoyed their day, using fans, umbrellas, and water to keep cool.
Temperatures like these can be dangerous for prolonged periods of time.
People we spoke with downtown said they weren’t expecting the humidity and made sure to hydrate to stay safe.
“Just stopped at the local CVS, about like a block or something here. We all got some Powerade’s and Gatorades to have electrolytes and then just sitting down in the shade to stay cool,” said Braxton Byrd, visiting Savannah.
To stay up to date with our extreme heat, be sure to download our WTOC weather app.
