CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Two men face new charges in the hit-and-run death of 14-year-old Marcus Anderson, who was riding an electric bike last month when he was struck and killed, Chatham County police said.

Officers charged 32-year-old Miguel Reyes-Castro with first-degree vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, and driving without a license Tuesday morning. Police also charged 29-year-old Olivan Antonio Ramos-Ramos, the registered owner of the vehicle, with party to a crime.

Both men were served their warrants at the Chatham County Detention Center, where they have been held without bond since December 29. They were originally arrested on charges of tampering with evidence and obstruction in connection with the case.

The charges stem from a December 28 crash where the 14-year-old was riding an electric bike near Glade and Ferguson around 7 p.m. A vehicle struck and killed the teen, then left the scene.

Chatham County police found the vehicle involved within a few hours and immediately began processing it for evidence. The investigation led to the arrests of both men the following day.

“The Chatham County Police Department is the lead investigative agency in this case, and any information that comes from another source may or may not be accurate at this time,” the department said in their media release.
