Talmadge Bridge crane collision: What we know so far
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - WTOC has been following up on the crane that collided with the Talmadge Bridge last week.
We have reached out to the Coast Guard, Georgia Department of Transportation, and the Georgia Ports Authority, but have not yet received any official answers on what caused the Talmadge Bridge crane strike.

The bridge reopened a couple of hours after the collision Friday evening, once the bridge was deemed safe.
The crane struck the Talmadge Bridge around 2:00 p.m. on August 1, which was roughly an hour and twenty minutes before high tide.
The river channel was also reopened to ships later that night.
This is an ongoing investigation. WTOC will provide more information about what caused the Talmadge Bridge crane collision once it becomes available.
