Savannah celebrates National Farmers’ Market Week
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - It’s National Farmers’ Market Week, and the City of Savannah celebrated at the Forsyth Farmer’s Market Saturday.
The farmers market is dedicated to supporting our local farmers and expanding access to fresh, local food.
During the celebration, the market announced the winner of the inaugural Market Dog competition.
They mostly wanted to stress the importance of having fresh, locally grown food in the community.
“Just to really help shine the light on all the hard work that our local farmers do year-round, we’re fortunate to live in a community that can grow year-round. And our farmers are working hard to provide for our local community,” said Cherie Trice, Interim Executive Director, Forsyth Farmers Market.
The Forsyth Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday.
