JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The James Fisher Memorial Foundation YMCA held its ribbon cutting Thursday in Jasper County.

The facility offers swim lessons, childcare, personal training and other activities aimed at creating a healthy and tight-knit community.

Around 100 community members, city officials, YMCA employees and volunteers gathered to celebrate and tour the new facility.

“This turnout is one of the highest turnouts I’ve seen for any ribbon cutting, and that just goes to show the excitement that the community has for the arrival of this YMCA,” said Harry Williams, mayor of Hardeeville. “Everybody realizes the importance and the impact that a YMCA can have on a community.”

The building is located on East Argent Parkway in Ridgeland. A variety of membership options are available.
