New Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia CEO talks about role in community
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Krystal Crawford is the newly appointed CEO of Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.
WTOC’s Dawn Baker continued her conversation with her on Welcome to Our Community. Crawford said so far it has been a very busy start to her new role with the Girl Scouts.
She has traveled around the state to several counties to get to know the administrators, as well as Girl Scouts.
She said her first month has been filled with legacy moments from launching the new Juliet Gordon Low hybrid ferry in Savannah to getting an opportunity to name Savannah’s new WNBA team, and of course empowering girls to be whatever they want to be.
She said the Girl Scouts is the world’s largest leadership program for girls. She wants to remind everyone that every female astronaut who went to space was once a Girl Scout.
She is working to make sure that there are scouting opportunities in every county in the state, while recruiting former Girl Scouts to come in as mentors and tell their stories to inspire the girls.
