LIST: Winter storm closings, schedule changes in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry
COASTAL GEORGIA AND THE LOWCOUNTRY (WTOC) - A Winter Storm Warning is in place for Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Screven, Jenkins, Emanuel, Hampton, Jasper, and Beaufort Counties.
Anywhere in those areas could see 2″ of snow with isolated accumulations approaching three inches in northern Screven and Hampton Counties. Roads will be impacted more in these areas.
Closings in Beaufort County
- Beaufort County will close their county facilities this weekend and are expected to reopen them on Monday.
- County facilities include gyms, parks and rec facilities, and other county-owned properties.
Closings and schedule changes in Chatham County
- All youth basketball games scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31 have been postponed.
- Additionally, to ensure the safety of staff and families, all City of Savannah community centers will close at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31. Updated schedules and makeup dates will be communicated once confirmed.
- The “K- Pop Warriors Live Show” scheduled at the Ben Tucker Theater inside the Cultural Arts Center will proceed with a revised performance schedule.
- The first performance originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. has been rescheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Tickets purchased for the original 6:30 p.m. performance will be honored at the updated time.
- There is no change to the second performance, which remains scheduled for 4 p.m.
