Known gang member, felony suspect still at large after manhunt near Dean Forest Road

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 1:45 p.m. 8/8/2025] Authorities are still looking for a known gang member after a multi-department manhunt near Dean Forest Road on the afternoon of August 7.

Police are searching for 43-year-old Lee Antonio Polke, pictured below.

Polke is wanted for aggravated assault, domestic violence, cruelty to children in the third degree, failure to appear in court, and felony probation violation.

Anyone with information about Polke’s location is asked to contact the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.

[ORIGINAL STORY] Multiple police jurisdictions are assisting in a search for a highly aggravated felony suspect on foot in the woods near Dean Forest Road, police have reported.

The suspect is a known gang member, according to Sheriff Coleman of the Chatham County Sherriff Office.
