Habitat for Humanity hard hat campaign kickoff

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity held their official hard hat campaign kickoff Monday.

The event aims to spotlight the need for affordable housing in our region.

From now through December 5th they hope to raise $100,000 to build homes, community, and hope in the Coastal Empire.

The event featured the hard hat heroes — pillars of the community who are dedicated to building a better future for families in the community.

“Habitat for Humanity is trying to make an impact, whether that be with repairs, with news construction, or if it is building hope throughout our entire community. And we can’t do this alone, it takes everybody. And we are so grateful to have each and every one of our hard hat hero’s here today as we kick off for the beautiful opportunity,” said CEO of Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, Zerik Samples.

This campaign will culminate at the Home for the Holidays Gala in December where the top fundraiser will be honored as the hard hat champion.
