Flooded road alerts in Chatham County

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -Chatham County Emergency Management has made the following announcement: ‘Approximately 3 inches of rain has fallen in areas of Chatham County, causing standing water on some roadways. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.’

Savannah Mayor Van Johnson is also posting to social media about the flooded roadways.

“We are experiencing flooded roadways throughout the city. Officers are shutting down roads as they become impassable.”

Please avoid the following areas:

White Bluff in front of Savannah Tech flooded and shut down

Abercorn and Deerfield flooded 

Louisville and Lathrop is flooded

Heroes Way from Mohawk to Shawnee shut down.  

Woodley/Windsor

Abercorn at Largo . Roadway covered by water over to Mercy Boulevard 

Mercy at Willis flooded 

500 block of Wilshire flooding

Boundary and Gwinnett

Gwinnett and May 

Windsor and White Bluff

Mayor Johnson

So far, we’re also hearing about many cars stuck by the floods.

Flooded vehicles have been seen at the 200 block of Television Circle, Woodly Rd/Windor Rd, E Lathrop / Louisville Rd, and Shawnee Street by the mall.
