First Alert Weather Day Tomorrow

by Dylan Smith

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -We already have multiple heat advisories and warnings issued through tomorrow night.

Heading into the rest of tonight, we’ll look for mostly clear skies as temps cool into the mid to upper-80s by midnight.

Tomorrow morning, we’ll look for starting temps back in the mid to upper 70s across the area this morning.

Throughout the day, we’ll track sunny to mostly sunny skies as highs warm into the mid-90s to triple digits. If we break 102 degrees, we will set a new record high for the day. The current record was set back in 1949.

We have issued another First Alert Weather Day for Tomorrow. Heat index values are expected over 110 degrees during the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 90s to lower triple digits.

If you plan to spend time at the beach, do yardwork or have any activities planned outside, it is important to be safe.

Hydrate, take breaks from the heat and wear loose-fitting clothing if possible. Take care of your pets and walk them in the morning or closer to sunset when the pavement is cooler.

Make sure to stay aware of how your body is feeling if you plan on being outdoors most of the day.

The only relief for this will be a few isolated to scattered showers/storms forming around I-95 during the early to mid-afternoon and pushing inland throughout the rest of the afternoon. However, these will be isolated for most areas.

Then, we should cool into the upper-70s by midnight as these fall apart in our inland areas quickly after sunset.

There is a slight chance for afternoon showers Tuesday PM, but those won’t be enough to cool us off from feeling like 110 degrees and above.

There is a good chance we could issue another First Alert Weather Day for Tuesday. Be sure to stay updated on the latest forecast over the next several days.

Above average temperatures extend into the middle of the week, but the heat will relax slightly on Wednesday.

That’s when highs return to the mid to upper 90s, above average but not as bad as the previous few days. Isolated showers continue to be a potential during the afternoon hours.

Tropical Update: We’re not expecting anything within the next 7 days. We will continue to monitor the tropics, but Saharan dust will keep the main development region quiet. Stay tuned for updates daily with the WTOC First Alert Weather Team!
