FIRST ALERT: Hot weekend ahead with temperatures reaching the triple digits

High pressure will be the dominant weather feature into next week. This will keep us mainly dry as temps really heat up. We’ll see the hottest temps so far this year. We have 3 First Alert WX Days due to heat! We’ll see highs in the upper 90s to low 100s Saturday through Monday. Heat index values may reach put to 114 for some. Afternoon rain chances increase slightly Monday. Better afternoon rain chances with slightly cooler highs in the mid 90s Tuesday through Friday.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with a 10% chance for showers and storms through 9pm then mostly clear, lows in the mid 70s.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a 10% chance for showers and storms, highs in the upper 90s. Heat index values up to 111.

Saturday night will be mostly clear with a 10% chance for showers and storms, lows in the mid to upper 70s.

Sunday will be mostly sunny, highs near 100. Heat index values around 113.

Monday will be partly cloudy with a 40% chance for showers and storms, highs near 100. Heat index up to 114.

A trough of low pressure located just of the Louisiana coast is producing disorganized showers and storms. There is only a 10% chance for tropical development before the system moves inland tonight.
