Double Red Flags issued on Tybee Island Sunday
TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - Lifeguards on Tybee Island are flying double red flags.
Tybee Island Ocean Rescue posted on social media Sunday afternoon that the double reds flags were out due to dangerous rip currents and strong surf.
Officials say swimming is not permitted, but wadding is allowed up to the knees but not advised. Surfing is still permitted.
Tybee Island Ocean Rescue advised visitors to stay alert and address a lifeguard for any questions or concerns.
