Crash at MLK and Liberty results in overturned vehicle, one taken to hospital

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 11:15 a.m. 8/1/2025] One person was taken to the hospital but officers told WTOC there were no serious injuries after a vehicle was T-boned at MLK and Liberty on the morning of August 1.

According to an officer, the SUV was going through an intersection when it was struck by another vehicle and flipped over.

It appeared as though there were multiple occupants in at least one of the vehicles, as WTOC also saw people sitting on the sidewalk as one vehicle was towed away, but only one person was hospitalized.

The others involved in the incident were picked up by friends and/or family members and the roadway is now cleared in all directions.

Police are on the scene and we are working to learn more information.

Currently, the lane west of MLK is blocked. Locals are advised to avoid the area.
