City of Savannah announces cooling centers amid hot weekend weather, extends pool hours

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah is stepping in to help you beat the heat this weekend.

Cooling centers are currently open at Tompkins Regional Center and W.W. Law Regional Center.

Both centers are open until 7:00 p.m.

The city also has several pools and splash pads open for the summer.

They announced that weekend pool hours will be extended until September 21st with two swim sessions available.

Session One will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a staff break from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Session Two will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Pool Locations:

• Daffin Pool – 1301 E. Victory Dr.

• Bowles C. Ford Pool – 1100 Stiles Ave.

• Tompkins Pool – 2333 Ogeechee Rd.

• W.W. Law Pool – 900 E. Bolton St.

Splashpads will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Locations for splashpads include: Forsyth Park, Hudson Hill, Crusader, Hull Park, Forrest Hills, Avondale Park, Victory Heights, Savannah Gardens, Tatemville, and Montgomery Crossroads.
