Celebration of life held for Davis Produce founder
WILMINGTON ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - Randy Davis Sr., the founder of Davis Produce and a respected pillar of the Wilmington island community, died at his home on Monday, Feb. 16, following a long battle with kidney disease. He was surrounded by family.
Randy’s family remembers him for his unmistakable laugh, his tireless dedication, and his open heart, along with his playful spirit and legendary banana suit appearances.
Davis built Davis Produce: Home of the Killer Tomato into a thriving business while becoming known throughout Wilmington Island for his generosity and integrity. Davis Produce isn’t just a business; it’s a pillar of this community.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his son, Randy Jr.; and his son, Riley. He is also survived by the countless people whose lives he influenced through his work and character.
“One of the great things about Randy was there’s not a child that came in here that didn’t leave without a banana,” Susan Broker, a Davis family member said. He loved to share those kind of things with the community. So we want to hear those stories tomorrow. We want people to bring their photographs and, you know, really just console one another and really celebrate his life.
Since the announcement of Randy’s passing, the family has been moved by an outpouring of love from neighbors and customers alike.
A celebration of life will take place Feb. 22 at the Tybee Island American Legion from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., where the family hopes everyone who knew and loved Randy will gather to share their fondest memories.
