City of Pooler accepting student applications for Youth Council leadership program

POOLER, Ga. — The City of Pooler announced it is inviting local high school students interested in civic engagement and leadership to apply for the upcoming Pooler Youth Council.
The annual program, which runs from September through May, is designed to give high schoolers firsthand experience in local government and community service.
Members will have the opportunity to share ideas with city leaders, participate in local community initiatives, and build leadership skills. Program requirements include attending monthly Youth Council and Pooler City Council meetings, participating in special events, and taking an overnight trip to the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta in February.
To qualify for the program, applicants must:
- Be a resident of the City of Pooler.
- Be enrolled in grades 9-12 for the current school year.
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to community service.
- Be able to actively participate in required meetings and scheduled events.
