Hinesville police investigating after shots fired in Walmart parking lot
HINESVILLE, Ga. — Police are investigating after gunfire broke out in the parking lot of a Hinesville Walmart Supercenter Monday night.
According to the Hinesville Police Department, officers responded to the store on Oglethorpe Highway after shots were fired around 9:30 p.m.
Investigators confirmed that at least one vehicle in the parking lot was hit by bullets. At this time, police report there are no known injuries and no ongoing threat to the public.
Out of an abundance of caution, police are asking the public to avoid the area while officers safely conduct their investigation.
