Candler County man sentenced to life in prison after crimes committed to 8-year-old
CANDLER COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A man in Candler County is sentenced to life in prison, plus 20 years, for the crimes he committed against an eight-year-old.
40-year-old Herber Laniez Garcia was convicted of rape, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, and child molestation.
Garcia also has a hold from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
These charges stem from deputies responding to call in February about shots fired and someone hiding in the woods along Saint Matthews Church Road.
And during the investigation, sexual assault claims were made.
