Body found at the back of Abercorn Target, Savannah Police confirm

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 3:31 p.m. 7/30/2025] The Savannah Police have told WTOC that, based on video they were able to obtain, they believe the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

The death investigation involving the body found at the Target on Abercorn is still ongoing.

[UPDATE 1:15 p.m. 7/30/2025] The Savannah Police department have publicly confirmed they are conducting a death investigation of an adult male found at the 14000 block of Abercorn Street in a post on X/Twitter.

Police are asking for anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020, or use the SPD mobile app to remain anonymous.

[ORIGINAL STORY] A body was found at the back of the Abercorn St. Target in Savannah on July 30, police have confirmed.

WTOC reached out to the Savannah Police Department regarding a police presence at the Target on Abercorn Street.

Police confirmed to us that a man was found at the back of the lot of the south side Target on Abercorn (14000 block) with a gunshot wound.

They said this death is currently under investigation. Police are working to determine the manner of death.
