Appling Co. woman sentenced to 20 years for vehicular homicide after Easter 2024 crash

BAXLEY, Ga. (WTOC) - On August 4, 2025, Laken Michelle Deloach pled guilty to one count of Homicide by Vehicle (1st degree), three counts of Serious Injury by Vehicle, Speeding, Failure to Maintain lane, and Reckless Driving, according to the Appling County Sheriff’s Department.

She was sentenced to a total of 20 years, with 10 years to be served in confinement.

In May 2025, WTOC reported that Laken Deloach faced 16 charges in connection to a deadly crash that occurred on Easter morning in 2024.

The charges included three counts of homicide by vehicle, nine counts of serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.

One of the victims was 25-year-old D’Angelo Adams, a passenger in the SUV Deloach was driving.

Deloach was initially charged in April 2024.

According to Sheriff Mark Melton, Deloach was taken into custody and transported to the Appling County Detention Center to be held until she is transferred to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
