9-year-old Port Wentworth gymnast wins two gold medals at Junior Olympics
PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) - A Port Wentworth gymnast is bringing home a pair of gold medals from the Junior Olympics in Houston, Texas.
Isabella Bonfessuto, 9, won gold medals on both the Vault and on the Bars in her division.
She competes as a Bronze level gymnast and has now advanced to the Finals on Friday.
Other Port Wentworth gymnasts are also competing in the Junior Olympics.
Naomi Bing took 4th place in the Bars for Bronze level and Rachel Sanchez Melendez placed 5th on the Bars for Silver level.
This is only the third year Port Wentworth Gymnastics has fielded a competitive team.
WTOC highlighted the athletes and team on Morning Break before they left for Houston.
