Visit Savannah summit helps local businesses capitalize on major upcoming events

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Tourism generates millions of dollars for Savannah each year, and local tourism leaders are ensuring area businesses get their share of the revenue.
More than 200 entrepreneurs gathered Thursday morning at the historic Savannah Theatre for Visit Savannah’s “Opportunity Summit.”

Organizers presented marketing strategies and free promotional resources designed to help small businesses leverage foot traffic from major upcoming crowds, including next month’s Banana Ball World Tour playoffs and the Southeastern Conference volleyball tournament.
Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli emphasized that the initiative aims to keep tourism dollars circulating locally.
Business leaders were encouraged to launch themed promotions, create eye-catching storefront displays, and host watch parties to turn out-of-town visitors into direct revenue for the Coastal Empire economy.
