U.S. Sen. Cory Booker to visit South Carolina for NAACP events
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - U.S. Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey is scheduled to visit South Carolina twice this month for NAACP events in Sumter and Charleston.
Booker’s first visit is scheduled for 8 p.m. tonight at the Sumter County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet in Sumter. Sen. Booker will also attend the Charleston Branch NAACP’s annual Freedom Fund Gala on Nov. 20.
Booker, a Democrat, said the visits are part of a celebration of Democratic victories across the country in the midterm elections, including Sen.-elect Annie Andrews’ historic win in South Carolina.
