SCDSS launches online dashboard tracking child care scholarship data

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WTOC) - The South Carolina Department of Social Services announced the launch of a new online Child Care Scholarship Dashboard on Monday.

The platform provides real-time access to key program figures, allowing families, child care providers and community partners to view data without requesting custom reports.

According to SCDSS, the dashboard offers a centralized look at critical metrics, including scholarship enrollment trends, demographic details, monthly payment distributions, provider participation, application activity and county-by-county comparisons. The program is funded through a combination of state and federal dollars.

“The launch of the South Carolina Child Care Scholarship Program Dashboard reflects our agency’s commitment to giving families, providers and communities clear, accessible information about the programs that support them,” said Tony Catone, SCDSS state director. “This new tool makes it easier to understand how the South Carolina Child Care Scholarship Program operates, demonstrates the high demand of the program, as well as how resources are deployed across our state for families utilizing the program to help pay for child care services.”

Agency officials said the tool is part of an ongoing effort to improve transparency and assist families seeking affordable child care.
